For
nearly thirty years, the Tower Brass
Quintet has creatively and progressively shaped their reputation as a
premier chamber music ensemble, delighting a broad spectrum of audiences with
their unique style of programming and performance.
Critics
and presenters have consistently praised the Tower
Brass for the innovative nature of their concert repertoire, their superb
musicianship, and their engaging stage presence. Each Tower Brass concert program is thoughtfully planned to offer the
audience a blend of entertainment and discovery and is skillfully presented by
five gifted and versatile performers. Recently, the Tower Brass was named as “most popular instrumental ensemble” by
the Lake Erie West People's Choice Awards.
The
Tower Brass launched their international reputation in 1986 with a prize-winning
performance at the International Brass Chamber Music Competition in Barcs,
Hungary. Since that notable event, the Tower
Brass Quintet has concertized in twenty-five states and collaborated with
several of the world's other premiere brass ensembles, including the London,
Budapest, Annapolis and American Brass Quintets. Tower
Brass concerts and recordings have been heard on National Public Radio's All
Things Considered, the American Composer's Alliance Series, Voice of
America, Hungarian State Radio and WNCN in New York.
The
Tower Brass Quintet has released six recordings. The latest,
entitled “20,” features newly recorded works of Johann Sebastian Bach and of
tubist-composer David Saygers in addition to selected works from the Tower
Brass’s five previous releases.
